Jari or Mary?

Will it be Jari or Mary?
If you live in Oklahoma, you know we have a dynamic and historic race for Governor taking place.  The winner will be a woman. The first ever.
We also had a gubernatorial debate last night between the two candidates.
I think it is safe to say that Oklahoma is now in touch with a softer, more feminine side.
Jari made an emotional plea to the voters, while Mary spoke passionately about the issues. Both candidates were cordial.  They even wore different shades of pink.
I have had the opportunity to get to know Mary and Jari as they have served our state in numerous capacities over the years. And, I like them both… a lot.
While they have different backgrounds, political philosophies and their own distinctive leadership styles, both are more than capable of leading our state down a positive and productive path.
On November 2nd, I think it is safe to say that Oklahoma will be the winner.

Craziness

I was having a fun conversation yesterday with a good friend of mine about all of the political craziness on T.V. right now.  She happens to live in New Hampshire and her airways are inundated with ads from tons of candidates all across the region.

I guess that’s just how it is up there in New England.  Here in Oklahoma, we get to keep our ads all to ourselves.  And, this next one is definitely a keeper.

Enjoy!

Obsession

Hi, my name is the Senator’s Wife and I am an adaholic.  Is that even a word?

I do have a problem ……. and it involves political advertising.  I’m obsessed with it.

And, this is my favorite time of year because every day….all day….everytime you have the television on, nine times out of ten there is a political ad running for someone or something. Ads for candidates, ads against candidates, ads for state questions, against state questions etc……here are some of my favorites to date…..but, only because I find them fun.

The first one actually is a very good ad…….. so fun might not be the right word. And, when I say ‘good’, I mean effective.  Whether you agree with the message or not, you will have to admit it is a well produced piece.

Here ya go:

OK –

Switching gears………

This next one is a little…..odd.  Not sure if they are trying to make the candidate appear younger?  Hipper? Or, show that he can text?  Personally, I don’t think it has any real value – but it made me wonder why anyone would spend the money to put this on T.V.  Anyone?  Anyone?

This one is just plain funny….. for obvious reasons.  It is also effective…..I think?  Comes from an Oklahoma candidate too…..made me laugh.  Just because.

What do we say…um, only in Oklahoma? You’ll see what I mean….Enjoy:
